OUR PROFILE

Bionas Agropolitan Technology Corridor Development Berhad or better known as BATC Development Berhad under its tradename “BIONAS” was incorporated in 2004 and the project launched in 2007 with the objective of promoting Jatropha Curcas planting for fuel production as well as to generate wealth creation within the Malaysian Economy.

The  Company’s  main  unique  selling proposition lies in its supply chain, branding control, strong support from the Malaysian government and local communities, its price leading position, and the relative low entry cost of producing Jatropha biofuels by outsourcing a major portion of its supply chain costs and risks to existing yet idle multi-million dollar refineries, third party nursery partners and partnering land owners and farmers. To date, BIONAS is a world leading brand in Jatropha plantation and bio-fuel industry. Its assets portfolio in Malaysia consists of over 600,000 acres planted areas, 3.3 million acres land bank, 313 nurseries and collection centers and 5 processing plants.

BIONAS have production capacity for 2,500,000 tonnes seeds, 850,000 tonnes of Crude Jatropha Oil (CJO) and 1.7 Million tonnes of seed cakes (bio-mass), 8.5 Million tonnes of Jatropha additives and 85.0 Million tonnes of B20 for bio-fuels. BIONAS has extended its global presence in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Taiwan, China and Kenya.

WHY BIODIESEL

Bio Diesel is the most valueable from the renewable energy that can be used directly in any existing, unmodified diesel engine. Bio Diesel is defined as mono-alkylesters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats which can form to ASTM D6751 specifications for use in diesel engines. Bio Diesel refers to the pure fuel before blending with diesel fuel. Bio Diesel blends are denoted as, "BXX" with "XX" representing the precentage of Bio Diesel contained in the blend (ie: B20 is 20% Bio Diesel, 80% petroleum diesel)

Many alternative Bio Diesel fuels have been shown to improve exhaust emissions than traditional Diesel fuel. Jatropha Bio diesel holds promise as fuel alternatives in diesel engine development continues. Research has shown that jatropha bio diesel properties are of the highest grade. Improves engine performance, is very similar to diesel fossil fuel. Bio Diesel is non toxic, bio degradable and a renewable fuel. The Global emissions regulations have placed design limitations on heavy duty diesel engines, taking us into a directional trend towards cleaner burning fuel sources. Jatropha bio diesel is growing Worldwide !! Bio diesel performs better than Petroleum diesel, reduces serious air pollutants such as particulates, carbon monoxides, hydrocarbons and air toxins. Mutagencity studies show that bio diesel dramatically reduces potential risk of cancer and birth defects.

This alternative fuel is plant-based and adds absolutely no CO2 to the atmosphere.

*Biodiesel substantially reduces unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and particulate matter in exhaust fumes. Sulphur dioxide emissions are 100% eliminated (Biodiesel contains no sulphur).

*Biodiesel can be used as a pure fuel or blended with petroleum in any percentage. B20 (a blend of 20 percent by volume BioDiesel with 80 percent by volume petroleum diesel) has demonstrated significant environmental benefits with a minimum increase in cost for fleet operations and other consumers.

*Biodiesel exhaust is not offensive and doesn't cause eye irritation. Vehicles do not spew out vile black fumes/particulates.

*Biodiesel is environmentally friendly: it is renewable, "more biodegradable than sugar and less toxic than table salt" (US National BioDiesel Board).

*Biodiesel was the first renewable fuel to successfully complete the EPA-required Health Effects Testing under the Clean Air Act. Mutagenicity studies show that Biodiesel dramatically reduces potential risks of cancer and birth defects(2).

*Biodiesel helps preserve natural resources. For every unit of energy needed to produce Biodiesel, 3.24 units of energy are gained - nearly four times more than diesel.
